Stine Seed Company is pleased to announce Thursday, March 23, 2023, as Women in Agriculture Day in Iowa.

For the fourth consecutive year, Stine has partnered with the Iowa FFA Foundation, Iowa 4-H Youth Development Program and FarmHer to obtain a state proclamation celebrating the women who make the ag industry prosper.

The proclamation reads: “Iowa is taking decisive action to recognize the nearly 50,000 women who serve in leadership, support and influential, decision-making roles across Iowa’s 85,000 farms. And, in addition to working on the farm, women in agriculture make a difference across the state in various commodity and industry fields.”

“We want everyone to join us in celebrating Women in Agriculture Day,” said Ann Clinton, communications manager for Stine. “This initiative is larger than Stine — it’s a campaign to honor women from all sectors of ag and the roles they play in advancing the future products and services of the industry.”

Stine recognizes women agricultural workers throughout the year and chose March 23 for Women in Agriculture Day because it falls within both Women’s History Month and National Agriculture Week (March 21-27). In addition to the state proclamation this year, Stine kicked off its annual Women in Ag campaign in early March. Stine has interviewed women from many facets of the industry who have been key in fostering success in their roles and guiding the future generation of ag leaders.

“Across the nation, women are paving the way in agriculture innovation and industry,” said Clinton. “Stine is proud to share their stories of learning and leading to inspire the next generation of remarkable women in this field. On Women in Agriculture Day and every day, we celebrate their accomplishments and contributions.”

Stine is encouraging everyone to join in celebrating Women in Agriculture Day in Iowa by sharing their ag stories on social media using the hashtags #ShowUsYourField and #TogetHER4Ag. Individuals interested in learning more about the day or how Stine is celebrating women in agriculture throughout March are welcome to follow the Stine Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube pages, or catch the special-edition Women in Ag episodes on the Stine podcast — the Stine Seedcast — available wherever podcasts are found.
