Edge Dairy Farmer Cooperative today announced the hiring of Laura Hensley to lead the company’s communication team to help develop and execute the multiple channels of communications to members, lawmakers and other stakeholders.
Hensley brings a vast background in dairy cooperatives and marketing to the organization. She was most recently an account director at C.O.nxt, a marketing agency serving the food and ag space. Previous positions include marketing and public relations roles at GreenStone Farm Credit Services, FLM+ (now Curious Plot) and Michigan Milk Producers Association. Additionally, she owned a communications and consulting business in Michigan working with a wide range of agricultural associations and commodity organizations.
“I am excited to join this talented team of communicators working on behalf of the association members to provide relevant information to all of our stakeholders,” Hensley said. “I have watched with great interest the evolution of Edge Dairy Farmer Cooperative, along with their partner organizations, from the outside and I am thrilled to help lead the organizations into what is shaping up to be an exciting future for the members.”
Tim Trotter, Edge’s CEO, said Hensley brings an extensive background in not only the dairy industry but marketing and communications which will bring value to the cooperative as a whole.
“Laura is a perfect fit for Edge with her deep knowledge of the dairy community coupled with her marketing communications experience,” Trotter said. “Her past leadership in other organizations will be an asset to our team at Edge.”
