Canadian tractor sales down 12% in June, combines sales down 44%

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers’ monthly “Flash Report,” the sales of all tractors in July in Canada in 2019 were down 12% from last year.

For the year, a total of 13,6605 tractors were sold, which compares to 4,737 sold through June 2018, a decrease of 8%.

For the month of June, two-wheel-drive smaller tractor (under 40 HP) were down 11% from last year while 40 & under 100 HP were down 11%. Sales of two-wheel-drive 100+ HP were down 15% compared to last year and four-wheel-drive tractors were down 32% for the month.

For the year, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were even with last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were down 17%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP are down 20%, while 4-wheel drive tractors are down 35% for the year.

Combine sales were down 44% for the month. Sales of combines for the year totaled 839, a decrease of 25% over the same period in 2018.
