Construction has begun to transform space in the Alberta Milk building to house the Lactanet milk testing lab. Both Alberta Milk and Lactanet believe that moving the Lactanet milk testing lab will enhance collaboration and add greater value to the dairy industry through a mutual dedication to serving Alberta dairy farmers.

Alberta Milk is committed to being a strategic partner in Canada’s dairy industry. So, with changing needs for space in the Alberta Milk building, there was an opportunity to enhance an important partnership with Lactanet.

“We are very pleased about the opportunity to better utilize our space and work closer with the Lactanet team,” says Freda Molenkamp-Oudman, general manager for Alberta Milk. “We look forward to working together to benefit the dairy industry in Alberta and Canada.”

This new collaboration also creates the potential for increased flexibility of lab services for local dairy farmers. The lab will continue to be a completely independent, fully certified facility.

“Building on our long-term relationship, we are pleased to collaborate even closer with a progressive organization like Alberta Milk to better meet the needs of the Alberta dairy industry,” says Lactanet Chief Executive Officer Neil Petreny.

The lab will be relocated in the former Alberta Milk warehouse space and renovations are expected to be complete by January 2021. The Alberta Milk office is located at 1303 91 St SW in Edmonton, Alberta and is temporarily closed to the public due to COVID-19 and renovations. Staff can continue to be accessed through email and phone.
