Tractor sales in Canada up 8% in February, combines down 3%

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers’ monthly “Flash Report,” the sales of all tractors in Canada for February 2018 were up 8% compared to the same month last year.

For the year, a total of 2,858 tractors were sold, which compares to 2,551 sold through February 2017.

For the month, two-wheel-drive smaller tractor (under 40 HP) were up 1% from last year, and 40 & under 100 HP were up 21%. Sales of two-wheel-drive 100+ HP were up 8% from last year, and four-wheel-drive tractors were up 3% for the month.

For the year, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were up 5% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were up 15%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP are up 16%, while 4-wheel drive tractors are up 32% for the year.

Combine sales were down 3% for the month. Sales of combines for the year totaled 110, a decrease of 27% over the same period in 2017.
