Full year: Canadian tractors sales down 4%, combine sales down 19%

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers’ monthly “Flash Report,” the sales of all tractors in December in Canada in 2019 were down 7% from last year.

For the year, a total of 25,159 tractors were sold, which compares to 26,179 sold through December 2018, a decrease of 4%.

For the month of December, two-wheel-drive smaller tractor (under 40 HP) were up 6% from last year while 40 & under 100 HP were down 12%. Sales of two-wheel-drive 100+ HP were down 30% compared to last year and four-wheel-drive tractors were down 27% for the month.

For the year, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were up 4% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were down 8%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP are down 18%, while 4-wheel drive tractors are down 36% for the year.

Combine sales were down 13% for the month. Sales of combines for the year totaled 1,695, a decrease of 19% over the same period in 2018.
