DFO welcomes Rosa Checchia as new Chief Marketing Officer

DFO is pleased to welcome Rosa Checchia as our new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).

“With more than 20 years experience in the marketing and dairy industries, Rosa is a true leader in the field,” said Cheryl Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Dairy Farmers of Ontario. “She has a proven track record of creating brand strategies that drive consumption and usage, and that have resulted in overall business growth. We are excited for her to join DFO at this important time.”

Rosa’s career in consumer-packaged goods began right after university with Lactalis Canada (formerly Parmalat Canada) as Customer Service Representative for Ault Foods. She later advanced into brand management roles at Lactalis, including Director of Marketing. She played an instrumental role in launching the Black Diamond Cheestrings brand in Canada, which became a global brand for Lactalis, and gained recognition for being the most trusted brand, receiving numerous new product and advertising awards.

In her most recent position as Vice-President of Marketing, Total Cheese & Tablespreads Division at Lactalis, Rosa led the merger and acquisition of the Kraft Heinz Natural Cheese business into Lactalis Canada, the largest dairy acquisition in Canadian history.

Rosa has made a valuable contribution to the grocery industry over her career and in recognition was awarded the Star Women of Grocery 2019 award. She is also an active member of the Toonies for Tummies Steering Committee for The Grocery Foundation.
