Northeast Dairy Businesses Awarded Funding to Expand Co-Packing Capabilities

The Northeast Dairy Business Innovation Center has awarded over $900,000 in funding to support nine dairy businesses across New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Vermont. The Dairy Co-Packing Grant aims to help processors scale operations, diversify products, and establish new co-packing partnerships.

Award amounts range from $20,073 to $150,000. Funded projects include equipment upgrades, production expansion, and process optimization to improve co-packing efficiency and meet growing market demand.

Awarded Projects:

  • Kasbo’s Market (NJ) – $66,912 to expand Syrian cheese production and enter specialty retail through a new co-packing partnership.

  • All Star Specialties (NY) – $20,073 for new production equipment to triple co-packed output.

  • Indian Milk & Honey (NY) – $150,000 for a packaging-enabled filler to support expanded production and client offerings.

  • Trinity Valley (PA) – $149,904 to install a bottle filler and improve processing efficiency.

  • Pittsburgh Special-T Dairy (PA) – $150,000 to enhance yogurt smoothie production with new bottling equipment.

  • Brother Daniel’s Amish Farms (PA) – $150,000 for an automated butter packing line to meet demand and improve safety.

  • Penn Dairy (PA) – $95,000 to upgrade yogurt pasteurization and expand co-packing output by 50%.

  • Parish Hill Creamery (VT) – $38,800 to implement a Preventive Control Plan for a new sheep milk-based co-packing line.

  • Wilcox Ice Cream (VT) – $82,500 for automated ice cream filling to increase production capacity and efficiency.

These investments aim to strengthen the region’s dairy sector by enhancing co-packing services and supporting business growth.
